Hello all, I am here to share about my recent haul and highly raved about in the beauty circle - Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in IMSHOOK. This is a mid tone burnt coral shade, I'm guessing everything with burnt just make everything sounds fascinating. I am going to review and share my thoughts and where it stands among my collection of other liquid lipsticks that I own. I got this from makeupyourmindsg, and I got it delivered to me pretty fast too. Thank you.
When I got hold of it and swatch, it was a light coral pinky undertone and I was disappointed because it reminded me of some similar shades that i got. Then 2 min later, the shade darkens. I'm having mix feelings over this liquid lipstick. I'm neither shiok nor disappointed but like yeah I could live with it. It was the perfect colour for summer too. It's a wearable shade to work, school, day event. It's not too loud or not too dark. Good thing it's a neutral and wearable for all skin tones.
I truly thought that there weren't much of a duplicate of this colour yet. But when I managed to dig out those colors that imshook reminds me of, I was like aww, was it me who's into this shades recently that's why I'm buying another similar one? I was hoping that it will be more vibrant with more orange. Look at the possible dupes: Peripera velvet series Katvond liquid lipstick in double dare ( more muted) Lancôme beige vintage
This is how it looks like on me. - pigmented - smooth - not streaky
- minimal touch up, I only touched up once since 11 am when I wore it out.
And it sit comfortably on my lips, and doesn't dry me out. I love the formula and texture but color wise, it didn't feel very special. But it went well with my makeup yesterday. I mean it's hard to find something that mismatches this colour! But since it's my first time owning a Jeffreestar product, I'll let it pass. I'm quite impress that it lasted longer than katvond liquid lipstick, and it doesn't smudge.
Conclusion : I would not say say it's a must get it but this makes a popular shade among most ladies who are looking for a minimal to neutral makeup with something that brings out some vibrancy on their face.. Something not too dark and over the top. For me, I like something bolder and louder. I'm still a fan of my Colourpop ultra matte liquid lipstick in Mama - my MLBB go to.
